We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our clients dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating various types of heavy equipment, including reach trucks, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo forklifts, to load, unload, and move materials within a warehouse distribution environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to smooth warehouse operations by ensuring accurate order picking, inventory management, and safe handling of materials.
Pay:Â CA$20.00 – CA$23.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments efficiently.
- Perform order picking using various equipment and ensure accuracy in fulfilling customer orders.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues.
- Support warehouse management system (WMS) data entry for inventory tracking and order processing.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage space and workflow.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
- Assist in warehouse distribution activities by preparing materials for shipment and ensuring proper documentation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic repair knowledge of warehouse equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picker technology.
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or materials handling roles.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to forklift operation and warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and perform manual tasks as needed.
