Casual Forklift Operator

Pay: From CA$23.90 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, pallet jacks, and load & unload heavy materials with precision.
• Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts and heavy equipment to ensure proper mechanical function and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Manage materials handling tasks such as order picking, shipping & receiving, and load securing to facilitate efficient warehouse distribution.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory movements, update order statuses, and maintain accurate records of all operations.
• Support warehouse supervisor in maintaining safety protocols aligned with OSHA standards by enforcing proper lifting techniques and safe equipment operation.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Los, or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse or distribution setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, loading & unloading shipments, and extended periods of standing or walking.
• Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and order accuracy.
• Forklift License Required.
